This front mounting intercooler has been designed as an upgrade for the Nissan GTR R35 models. After extensive trials, we found that the most efficient for these models was a custom designed core of tube and fin design, and along with an overall increase in dimensions we have been able to improve the cooling ability dramatically. We make full use of the front opening of the bumper, and the top grill with billet heat sink on the end tanks to optimize cooling, unlike many others on the market. This gives a huge leap in efficiency and goes a long way to keeping intake temperatures down.
Our intercooler is a massive 165% larger than the stock intercoolers (i.e. more than two and a half times as big!). Our own testing was conducted on software and hardware tuned vehicles on a dyno and on track, to ensure that they would be working their hardest and the results showed both a reduction in inlet temperature, an increase in horsepower and torque, but with no detrimental effect on turbo spool-up. Very recent customer tests (July 2014) showed +48 bhp on an 920bhp GTR during a full power run on the dyno, with some tweaks to the mapping to allow for the cooler air and better flow the vehicle left with a gain of 65bhp making it a massive 985bhp. Inlet air temperature rose only 9 degrees above ambient making it our best performing intercooler ever!
This GTR intercooler kit is very comprehensive, supplied complete with all parts required, including mandrel bent 80mm pipework in black, new high capacity air filters, silicon hoses, all clips, bolts, and nuts together with comprehensive colour instructions. No cutting of the crash bar or any part of the bumper is necessary at all.
Also available is a carbon scoop to fit to the bumper and crash bar to optimize cooling. The modified bumper can be seen in the close up picture of the intercooler on the vehicle, and also the carbon scoop with modified bumper can be seen in the final picture of the front of the vehicle.
