Founded in the early 80’s in Southern California, under the company name of Suspension Techniques. Suspension Techniques developed many innovative products and solutions in response to market demands. Utilizing quality materials, modern technologies, and streamline processes Suspension Techniques was able to provide excellent value for their product in the marketplace. Suspension Techniques soon established themselves as a recognized name in the Sport Compact suspension tuning industry. This success helped garner the attention of many enthusiasts and tuners resulting in a strong growth in the brand in the USA.
The Sporttech & Speedtech lowering springs along with the Suspension Techniques Sway Bar kits became a household name in the tuning scene in the 80's and 90's, being referred to in many circles simply as ST. In 1995 this attention attracted a new owner, Belltech Sport Trucks, who brought a whole new dimension to the ST lineup. With the acquisition ST was relocated from southern California to Fresno CA.
In 2005, the German suspension manufacturer KW automotive GmbH, well known internationally for their KW Coilover height adjustable suspension systems, purchased both Belltech Sport Trucks and Suspension Techniques and launched KW automotive North America Inc. With the name purchase and a formal name change of the brand to it’s current nameplate of “ST suspensions”. The infusion of the technology from ST’s new parent company took ST's game to a whole new level, increasing not only its application range coverage, but adding the innovative ST Coilover program, which was modeled after a galvanized KW Variant 1 coilover design.
With this influx of worldwide technology, staff, and engineering base ST boasts one of the largest application ranges and largest distribution chains of any suspension manufacturer in North America.
ST Suspensions offers 3 choices of coilover kits the first kit is the STX Coilover kit , ST XA Coilover kit and the track spex ST XTA Coilover Kit
The ST sport suspension range is a fantastic way to greatly improve your vehicle’s driving dynamics without breaking the bank. ST sport suspension uses twin-tube dampers with fixed damping and matched rebound/spring rates to deliver a much sportier driving experience.
Depending on the make and model, ST sport suspension kits will typically allow a lowering amount of 20mm on both the front and rear axles (VW Golf VII GTI), however for certain models upto 60mm is now possible! Please check what level of lowering is available for your car before ordering.
ST sport suspension kits feature perfectly matched springs and dampers to ensure the best possible handling after installation. The pre-set damping is not only set per vehicle, but also the intended level of lowering (for example 20mm or 30mm). Each kit features a low friction and pressure resistant housing with a high-quality mono block guide and seal package for maximum longevity. Once installed, you can expect your car to handle more agile with reduced body roll under hard driving conditions, not to mention a sportier lowered look. ST sport suspension kits are designed to work alongside the OEM components and are built to the absolute highest standard.
Every ST sport suspension kit is built to meet German TÜV standards and used on a wide range of vehicle brands. These include German makes such as VW, BMW, and Audi as well as more niche brands including Chrysler and Volvo. ST sport suspension is available on a total of 30 vehicle brands.
Already have fitted lowering springs? Further improve your vehicle’s driving dynamics with the ST sport shock – an OEM replacement that will transform the way your car feels and handles!
ST sport shocks are manufacturerd with heat-resistant twin-tube dampers and fixed damping characteristics. Their low friction pressure resistant housing features a high-quality mono block guide and seal package for maximum longevity in ALL weather conditions. What’s more, a shortened chrome-plated piston rod makes the sport shock perfectly suited for lowered vehicles.
Our use of high quality components ensures each ST sport shock performs at its best for the maximum period of time. Using a shortened piston rod ensures a sufficient pre-load of the lowering spring under hard driving conditions. The fixed damper characteristics, the ST sport shocks, ensure a better driving experience for numerous cars.
ST suspensions is proud to boast one of the largest applications for sport springs. Once more, ST sport springs are one of the few lowering springs on the market that (in combination with the standard suspension) will greatly improve the driving behavior of a vehicle as well as its overall looks!
Made from chrome silicon steel in a cold winding process, ST sport springs are multi-coated with a final epoxy coating ensuring an OEM quality and finish. As a result, they withstand a variety of weather conditions all year round. Depending on the vehicle model, ST suspension sport springs will allow a typical lowering of 20mm on the front axle and 15mm on the rear axle. Some vehicles can achieve a much greater lowering with the VW Golf Mk1 benefiting from 60mm on the front and rear axle!
Compared to standard suspension, ST sport springs lower the center of gravity to provide increased driving dynamics and handling. Furthermore, compression and rebound is reduced which allows the car to drive more agile with reduced body roll.
The spring rates of ST sport springs have been designed to work perfectly with the standard dampers to ensure the driving dynamics are improved and ultimately safe. Vehicle weight, wheel loads and the level of lowering have a huge impact on the rebound and compression of a vehicle so it’s essential this is not compromised. Depending on the level of lowering (for example 20mm, 30mm or 40mm), ST sport springs have different spring rates that harmonize with the standard shock absorbers. Put simply the more lowering, the higher the spring rate.
ST sport springs aren’t just available for new vehicles; even classic and rare models such as the BMW M30 and Mk1 Golf will find the perfect sport springs in the ST suspension product range!
ST anti-sway bars work by connecting the opposite wheels of a car using a steel torsion spring to increase stiffness and reduce body roll. All ST anti-sway bars are manufactured from high quality spring steel and finished with a final powder coating.
Once fitted, ST anti-sway bars greatly improve road handling during rapid load changes and hard cornering by reducing the load difference between the inside and outside wheels. The steering behavior is a lot more direct allowing a sportier and more agile driving style.
ST suspension anti-sway bars have been developed through years of experience in the U.S market and now are available for a wide range of vehicles. Benefits of fitting the ST anti-sway bar kit include:
In order to get the most out of your performance suspension, a properly optimized wheel alignment is an absolute must. The ST Pro-Align kit provides everything required to align
your lowered vehicle with the accuracy of a race car. In fact, many professional race teams use both our Pro-Align™ and Toe-Adjust™ to achieve the best alignment obtainable.
